If there is no God, then why do we all know the difference between right and wrong? Consider the following story. Imagine that I am walking down a deserted city street, and I see an old woman that I do not like trying to walk down into the subway. Why should I not push her down the steps and kill her? After all, no one would see me, and she was old, leading the police to think she simply fell. Of course, we can all agree this is evil, but I believe we feel that way because we naturally fear the judgment of God. So if there were no God, why should I not kill her?
DNA is an example of design that proves the existence of a Creator. DNA is a complex language that makes up the genetic code of every living thing. When new cells are created, DNA copies itself by being translated into a similar language called RNA, and then is finally translated back into DNA. Language is a form of communication, and communication cannot exist without intelligence. Clearly, an Intelligent Designer must have created DNA, because dead matter, like dirt, could not have created DNA on its own. Just as you can’t expect an encyclopedia to write itself, you can’t expect DNA to write itself.
Psalm 22 prophesied the way Jesus would be crucified 200 years before crucifixion was even invented. The chapter discusses a person being mocked, being surrounded by evil men that have pierced his hands and feet, that all his bones can be counted or not broken (this is significant because usually the person being crucified would have his legs broken, but Jesus’ legs were not broken), and his clothes being cast out in lots. This all describes exactly what Jesus went through. Further yet, while on the cross, Jesus confirms the fulfillment of this prophecy by reciting the first line of Psalm 22 as recorded in Matthew 27:46 and in Mark 15:34 when he says, “My God my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Isaiah 53 predicts how Christ would come suffer for our sins and bring us peace and reconciliation with God. Specifically, verse 5 points to Christ as it says, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” This is more evidence that Jesus was God in the flesh.
There is undeniable proof that Jesus is the Son of God. The Bible claims that He performed miracles over a period of three years, such as miraculously feeding thousands of people and raising people from the dead. Jesus was crucified and resurrected three days later. This was proven because he appeared to 500 people at one time, and even converted the Apostle Paul, who was killing Christians at one time. Later, these people died for their claim that they saw Jesus face to face. All of these claims could easily be disproven if they weren’t true, but there is no other explanation for all the facts.
